Hi, I’m Cynthia Maritato

Welcome to The Calming Edge, a mental-health education blog focused on anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner who now writes to help translate clinical knowledge into a clear, real-world understanding.

I bring together evidence-based insight and a trauma-informed perspective as viewed through a whole-person lens that honors the connection between mind, body, and the lived experience. My goal here is not to diagnose or treat, but to help you feel more informed and less alone as you navigate your own mental-health journey.

I’m a trauma survivor myself, and that experience deeply informs the way I write, with awareness and respect for the courage it takes to keep showing up. This space is intended to offer thoughtful guidance and practical support for reflection and growth.
